Adaptil Spray can be used for events both inside and outside the house, such as traveling in the car, adjusting to a new environment, visiting the vet, hospitalisation or visitors to the home.
Adaptil Spray may help stop or prevent fear or stress-related behaviour in dogs and puppies that result in destruction, house soiling, vocalisation (whimpering, whining), and anxiety.
Lactating female animals release substances called "appeasing pheromones", the function of which is to reassure their offspring. Canine "appeasing pheromones" are secreted by the subaceous glands of the intermammary sulcus in the lactating bitch. These pheromones calm the puppy at times of stress and provide reassurance, particularly in unknown environments and when encountering novel experiences. Research has shown that the reassuring properties of these pheromones persist even into adult age.
Adaptil Spray has been researched and developed to produce a synthetic analogue of these appeasing pheromones, emulating the properties of the natural appeasing pheromones to which dogs are receptive.
Adaptil Spray can be sprayed directly on bedding, inside crates, indoor kennels, or inside the car. The product should not stain or mark. Nevertheless, due to the wide variety of materials used in household furnishings and cars, we advise you to test product on a sample that is not easily visible prior to use.
If conditions fail to respond to treatment seek veterinary advice.
For best results Adaptil Spray should be allowed to come up to room temperature by leaving it in the room for about 1 hour before using it.
Do not spray directly onto the animal or near an animal's face. Each animal will respond differently but effects should last approximately 1.5-2 hours. Renew application after this time ir if you notice a reduced effect.
